Sony PlayStation Phone To Be Announced Next February?
Rumours of a smartphone which also acts as a portable gaming device are doing the rounds after the Chief Executive of Sony Ericsson said in a recent interview that a Sony Playstation Phone makes sense and that there will be some big announcement of a new type of product at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona next February.
Sony has the experience in developing the PlayStation portable gaming device and has a strong smartphone brand with Sony Ericsson Xperia. It is likely that the two will be combined to feature a smartphone with a slide-out controller to play games. Simple games are already popular on smartphones so the extension of this could be a threat to standalone gaming devices.
Android Will Overtake iPhone according to Apple’s Co-Founder
Apple c o-founder, Steve Wozniak, had high praise for the iPhone’s main competitor in the mobile operating system arena. He said in a recent interview that he believes Android will overtake competitors and become the most popular smartphone OS.
Of course he didn’t downgrade Apple and iPhones while making these comments. He emphasised that the iPhone is foremost for quality but Android has more features and is catching up on the quality side. In the long term he believes that Android is likely to be more popular but that the iPhone will continue to lead with quality and user satisfaction.
Wozniak didn’t have a great deal of praise for Nokia saying that it needs to start appealing to young consumers and is currently stuck with the previous generation.
